Alertness

  • An Eye For Detail (OW:131 {as Filmmaker’s Eye}) – You may use Alertness instead of Investigation to search an object or area [grants use of the Examination trapping from Investigation, YS:133].
  • Avoiding the Watchers (Forum Post): You are used to spotting people trying to watch you, and avoiding their notice once you do. You may use Alertness to duplicate the Casing trapping (page YS:123) from Burglary and the Distraction and Misdirection trapping (page YS:126) from Deceit for purposes of avoiding being noticed only.
  • Catch the Scent (OW:47): Use Alertness instead of Survival when tracking prey.
  • Corner of My Eye (YS:149): When successfully rolling Alertness passively to pick up on details, gain an additional 2 shifts. This reflects the ability to pick up on more pieces of information, but it does not improve the depth of that information (which would take things into the realm of Investigation).
  • Know the Grid (NEW) – You may use Alertness instead of Driving to get around the city [grants use of the Street Knowledge and Navigation trapping from Driving, YS:129].
  • On My Toes (YS:149): Gain +2 to Alertness when using it to determine initiative.
  • Paranoid? Probably. (YS:149): Gain +2 to Alertness when rolling against surprise.
  • Territorial (OW:54): +2 to Alertness when acting on your home turf (usually a small area you have a personal claim to).
  • Unity of Senses (OW:80): Use Alertness instead of Lore to pick up on the presence of the supernatural.
